About The Event
Shu Matsuo Post is an author, husband, father and a believer of gender equality, who decided to take his wife's family name when they got married. As he embarked on the legal process to change his last name in Japan, the reality of gender inequality, deep-seated in Japanese institutions and culture, was revealed to him. His name-changing journey and subsequent effort to redefine masculinity and feminism are all written in his new book: I Took Her Name.
WomEnpowered International is thrilled to welcome Shu to have a rich conversation about his book and the meanings and manifestations of gender equality. Tune in to the one-hour conversation with your morning coffee!
