STUDENT INITIATIVE PROJECT by GSDM X WE INT.
About Student Initiative Project by The Global Leader Program for Social Design and Management (GSDM)
The Global Leader Program for Social Design and Management (GSDM) is an interdisciplinary doctoral program to train top leaders leading a global society, involving 21 departments of nine graduate schools at the University of Tokyo.
GSDM aims to train potential leaders who can resolve global issues faced by society by integrating diverse expertise and organizing social resources, and who also possess excellent communication skills. Student Initiative Project is a student-led project, which is part of GSDM's program. This year, some of the GSDM students gather to initiate a project called Toward Gender Equality in UTokyo to research about gender disparity on campus.
What We Do
WE Int. collaborates with GSDM's Student Initiative Project called Toward Gender Equality in UTokyo to conduct research on gender disparity at the University of Tokyo. We plan to conduct qualitative research, including interviews to faculty members and students, to identify whether the objective reality of gender disparity in statistics translates to subjective perceptions of gender inequality on campus. In addition, we are planning to hold some panel discussion events, inviting gender experts.
